Telling stories with creativity, curiosity, and an eye for poetic detail; exploring the art inside the hidden corners of our world, our hearts, and our minds.

Who am I?

My name is Scout Tzofiya Bolton, and I am a poet, broadcaster, essayist and producer from Lancashire, UK. I like to examine the quiet poetry in unremarkable things, or the life-changing poetry in the bizarre, and have a passion for telling stories that are usually unheard. In 2024, I went through the existential process of making a documentary about myself, The Ballad of Scout and the Alcohol Tag (with the help of the Prison Radio Association) which won the 2025 Rose D’Or for Audio, along with an ARIA for Creative and Technical Innovation, and an Audio Production Award for Sound Design. I have also won the Gold ARIA for Best New Presenter, and the APA for New Voice. I am the author of several full collections of poetry, ranging from an obsessive, limerent nightmare about the historical ballerino Vaslav Nijinsky, and a recovery meditation with themes of schizophrenia, incarceration, and community. I present a weekly Rock Show for National Prison Radio and love the sense of community we have built, that we affectionately call The Rock Show Family. This show has taught me that there is nothing more crucial in broadcasting, than the ongoing conversation between broadcaster and listener - it is never one-sided.
